Review 1 March 2020: Depending on who is promoting this service the name can vary but Top Dogs is the main one and adequately describes what the intentions are. The admin style behind the service is very similar to the excellent Racing Intelligence publisher and great attention is paid to detail with subscribers kept fully up to date about what is happening at all times.
Providing tips is a difficult business – especially with client expectation of a quick profit tending to be high – and so the credentials of any author are worth considering. Here selections are provided by a former head of Greyound Betting at Betfair who has excellent connections in the greyhound world and also personally backs every selection advised.
On signing up you receive details of how the service will operate including the option to receive selections via SMS if required. The prime advice is via email, normally received around 10am on the morning of racing. Selections are provided with every detail required including where the quoted odds are currently available. In addition a minimum acceptable price for the selection is advised which makes great sense as prices are likely to move when selections are posted so early in the day. An analysis of the dogs’ likely performance is provided and a review of the previous day’s selections is also given.
In addition new subscribers receive a PDF manual covering the whole greyhound racing scene from tracks, type of races through to methodology for making personal selections. A truly comprehensive document adding good value to the service.
Most selections advised are straight win bets but we do see a few each way suggestions and the odd forecast. The emphasis is on finding value prices and the range has been wide from 1.44 up to 26.0 Offering low priced selections for greyhounds is a necessary part of any proper service and the minimum price advice shows why the selection has been made.
In 8 months of the review to date we have seen 332 runners of which 113 (34%) have been profitable. Stakes range from 0.5 points of a 100 point bank to 5 points per selection averaging around 2.50 and with the exception of a losing run in month 3 the service has generally shown steady progress.
