Review August 2020: I mean this as a compliment when I suggest that this service is very much in the old school style. The author has been involved with horse racing for many years and specialises in National Hunt meetings mainly in the UK but with the odd trip across the Irish Sea. He has made his living solely from betting for some 12 years and since joining Tipster Platforms in 2016 has achieved a near 30% strike rate with profits in excess of 1580 points.

The service is email based and the day’s selections normally arrive around 10am on the day of racing. Each jumps meeting is analysed and views given on more than just the races where selections are offered. The time spent by the author in putting his thoughts together must be considerable and it is clear from the content that he has a deep knowledge of his specialist subject. While it is not necessary to read all the commentary there is certainly value in so doing.

The majority of bets are win or each way although there is the occasional multiple. Staking is advised at a point level the user determines and with up to 10 points possible staked on 1 selection I would suggest a 200 point bank is wise but a minimum of 100. It is intended that bets are placed with Best Odds Guaranteed bookies and the prices quoted are checked by the publisher and specified at the time the emails are dispatched. My experience is that the prices are available if you act immediately on receipt of the emails but as you can imagine the large number of each way bets at relatively high prices means there is likely to be a quick adjustment when the bookmakers catch on.

The first period of the review showed steady progress with the betting bank reaching a peak of 330% of the starting point with an impressive ROI of 24%+. And the pandemic then put a hold on things and despite a rather cautious approach when jumps racing returned the almost inevitable bad run set in taking us back to a mere 45% profit overall. The way in which bad runs are dealt with can be most revealing and Snowy pretty much stuck to his guns rather than wander around trying to change what has clearly worked for him in the long term. New subscribers would have wondered what was happening but they need not have worried as a recent return to form has all but brought us back on the trend line for the review period. Profit is now 120% over the starting bank at an acceptable ROI of 8.4% and a return to past performance levels would see a further improvement on this.

It is unrealistic to expect a service to perform at a steady rate over a long period especially where the odds for selections are high. The history available on the site shows that there have been other poor spells with good recoveries subsequently achieved. Snowy is clearly a genuine enthusiast in his chosen specialist subject and offers a genuine service well managed through a professional publisher. As I commented in my newsletter in early August it can be a good time to start when a service is experiencing a downturn which was certainly the case here.

Subscription levels are fair for the service offered and as part of a diversified betting portfolio I think that Snowy should be a component.
